States Observe National Day With Fanfare

Kathmandu, Sept 20: The country on Friday observed the fourth National Day and the fourth anniversary of the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal by organising various programmes.
The day was marked both in the hills and the Terai with much fanfare.
Likewise, the National Day was also marked in Hetauda.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister of the State 3 Dor Mani Poudel said the Constitution has already guaranteed political rights of people.
“The time has come to develop the country in a collaborative effort of all,” he added.
Similarly, the National Day was observed in Dhangadi by organising various programmes.
Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim State Trilochan Bhatta said implementing the Constitution was the responsibility of all.
Speaking at the function organised at the regional stadium of Dhangadi, CM Bhatta said that it was high time to institutionalise the rights guaranteed by the constitution.
Likewise, the day was marked in Kalaiya by organising various programmes.
A morning procession was organised by the Nijgadh Municipality.
It was informed that every household of the municipality illuminated their houses.
Likewise, the Surunga Municipality of Saptari organised a tree plantation programme to mark the day.
On the occasion, Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality of Kavre Ashok Kumar Byanju laid a foundation stone of Nepal’s first Constitution Park.
According to our Kavre correspondent, the park will be built at the Gaukhureshwor community forest of Dhulikhel Municipality-8.
Likewise, Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC), the hub of the Madheshi movement, also organised various programmes to mark the day.
According to our Parsa correspondent, the District Constitution Day Celebration Committee of Parsa organised the function in the presence of political leaders, government officials, students and security forces.
To mark the day a morning procession was organised in the core cities of Birgunj. People from different walks of life participated in the rally.
The morning procession, which started from Ghantaghar, was led musical band, passed through Adarshanagar, Ghadiarwa and concluded upon reaching Ghantaghar again.
However, the leaders of Madhesh-based parties and their leaders did not attend any of these functions.
Bijay Kumar Sarabagi, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City and Nek Mohammad Ansari, coordinator of District Coordinator Committee of Parsa, who was elected from the then Madheshi Janadhikar Forum, did not attend the function.
